Nosuke Munetsugu born in Oushuushirakawa (near Tokyo).
(**Suishinshi Naotane, that made shinshintou in kuwanahan,**) He was a Master Craftsman abreast with Kiyomaru.
Especially living in the same City (Yotsuya) of Kiyomaru, they were rivals.
Famous is the story about their competition for the best forging technique.
Koyama Munetsugu was a renowned person, in his skills he was also expert in “chouji” making (a kind of Blade Pattern)
He was treated like a celebrity and common peoples nicknamed him as “Munetsugu Chouji”.
Both sides of the blade near habaki are engraved with “horimono” (Carving).
Sashiomote (wear showside) is decorated with embossed carving representing “HitsunoUchi FudouSon”.
Sashiura (wear backside) is engraved with Bishamon-ken and “Hatahoko” (a spear with a flag on the top).
The scabbard is coated with “hibi ware nuri” laquer style.
Tsuba is decorated with a sprinkled Chrysanthemum's flowers motif. (Coppery Enamels)
Silver fittings are used, it was belonging of high-ranking samurai.
